# Project Logs

Text-based log outputs from your streaming sessions

General Goal: The Logs page provides access to text-based log outputs from your streaming sessions, allowing you to troubleshoot errors and monitor the background operations of your specific project instances.

### Requirements and Limitations

Before utilizing the Logs dashboard, please review the platform's storage and capture constraints:

* Build Compatibility: Log capture is strictly limited to Unreal *development* builds.
* Data Types: Arcware stores text log output only; crash dumps or other binary crash artifacts are not retained by the platform.
* Retention Policy: The system stores a maximum of the 10 most recent runtime logs and the 10 most recent crash logs per project. These files are kept for a maximum duration of 90 days.
* Size Truncation: To optimize storage, any log file larger than 512 KB is automatically truncated. The system preserves the beginning and the end of the file while omitting the middle contents.

#### Viewing and Managing Logs

The interface lists all retained logs in a chronological table.

* Log Identification: Each entry displays the exact Time it was generated, the log Type, the unique Instance ID associated with the session, and the total file Size.
* Individual Actions: Using the icons in the Actions column, you can quickly preview the text file in your browser or download the single log directly to your local device.
* Bulk Exports: For deeper analysis or archiving, you can use the checkboxes next to individual logs—or the Select all button—to bundle multiple files together by clicking Download selected as ZIP.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.arcware.cloud/arcware-cloud-platform/getting-started-with-arcware-cloud/creating-and-managing-your-projects/project-dashboard/project-logs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
